Tedeschi Trucks Band recently announced the coming of a third studio album, Let Me Get By, produced in Derek and Susan’s Jacksonville home studio. Available January 29, the highly anticipated album was produced entirely by Derek Trucks and audio engineer Bobby Tis (The Original).

Yesterday they released another single from the upcoming record “Don’t Know What It Means”. According to Susan, “This song started with a melody from J. J. Johnson, one of our drummers…Then the band got ahold of it, and our newest member Tim Lefebvre laid down an amazing bass line. You can really feel the personality of the band in the group vocal. Of all the tunes on the album, this one comes closest to the vibe of an after-hours hang on our tour bus.”
The vibe of this song is telling of what we can expect from the rest of the album: it’s going to be wildly free and yet still close to home for the blues/soul family of twelve. With several new members to the band, including Alecia Chakour, we can feel the fresh new perspective TTB is about to introduce – and honestly, we can’t wait.
