Little Feat has announced its first new studio album in 12 years, Sam’s Place, will arrive May 17th.

Not only is the upcoming release the band’s first new album in 12 years, it’s also the group’s “first blues album, the first record with new members Scott Sharrard and Tony Leone, and it’s the first album that features [percussionist] Sam Clayton on lead vocals for the whole thing.”

The nine-track collection was recorded at the famous Sam Phillips Recording Studio in Memphis, TN and includes classic blues songs by legends such as Muddy Waters and Willie Dixon plus a new original song, “Milkman”. It also features contributions from guest vocalist Bonnie Raitt on Waters’ “Long Distance Call”, as well as Michael “Bull” LoBue on harmonica, Marc Franklin on trumpet, and Art Edmaiston on saxophone.
