Love Rocks NYC will once again return to New York City’s Beacon Theatre with a 2021 lineup featuring Warren Haynes, Gary Clark Jr., Jon Bon Jovi, Joe Bonomosa, and many more. Also on tap for the fifth annual benefit concert to fight hunger in NYC are Yola, Billy F. Gibbons, Emily King, Ledisi, Pedrito Martinez, Sara Bareilles, Tash Neal, Fantastic Negrito, Ivan Neville, Robert Randolph, Nathaniel Rateliff, and Jimmy Vivino.
The 2021 benefit for God’s Love We Deliver will air on June 3rd via a free FANS livestream beginning at 8 p.m. ET. This year’s house band will include guitarists Larry Campbell and Eric Krasno, drummers Steve Gadd and Shawn Pelton, and keyboardists Ricky Peterson and Jeff Young, with Will Lee once again serving as musical director and leader of the house band. On tap to host the 2021 Love Rocks NYC event are actors Jeff Garlin and Michael Imperioli as well as former New York Yankee centerfielder and talented guitarist Bernie Williams alongside special guest Tina Fey.
In addition to raising money for God’s Love We Deliver—which delivers medically tailored meals to those with serious illnesses in NYC—this year’s Love Rocks concert will also honor the city’s many frontline workers for their sacrifices throughout the pandemic. The lineup announcement did not include any information on an in-person audience and, given the availability of the free stream, it appears that the event will be closed to the public.
The 2020 edition of Love Rocks NYC occurred on March 12th, the day that countless tours, festivals, and concerts were first canceled due to the rapidly escalating pandemic. The show went on, but the in-person audience was limited to performers, essential personnel, credentialed members of the press, and immediate family. In many ways, Love Rocks NYC was the final gasp of the New York musical community before the entire society took a long breath and went underwater for well over a year.
Sign up on the Love Rocks NYC website to receive a link to the livestream on June 3rd. While the stream itself is free, there is a suggested donation of $20, which would provide two nutritious meals to someone in need.
