On Sunday, Lukas Nelson & Promise Of The Real offered up their second performance of the weekend at The Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, NY. The band—comprised of Nelson, bassist Corey McCormick, drummer Anthony Logerfo, percussionist Tato Melgar, and multi-instrumentalist Logan Metz—welcomed notable friends Warren Haynes and Jimmy Buffett at different points in the show.
Lukas Nelson and his band worked through a number of tunes off of their recently released album, Turn Off The News (Build A Garden), including the title track and “Bad Case”. The first sit-in of the night came as the band welcomed Buffett for a take on his beloved classic “Margaritaville”, which the artists had collaborated on earlier in the year at a performance in Los Angeles.

Towards the end of the performance, Lukas Nelson & POTR welcomed up Gov’t Mule frontman Warren Haynes for a take on Neil Young‘s “Cortez The Killer”, a tune that Warren regularly plays. Nelson is also no stranger to Young, as his band has toured as Neil’s backing band an recorded in the studio with him.
