Today, Macklemore, the fastest rising new rap star in the game, and Ryan Lewis the beat master behind all of his songs, announced the dates for their 2013 U.S. arena tour. Kickoff will take place on October 22nd in Portland Oregon at the Rose Garden. Including some of the largest venues of their careers the tour will include locations such as Madison Square Garden in New York City, the Staples Arena in Los Angeles and and the USF Sun Dome in Tampa Florida.
With their show at the O2 Arena in Dublin selling out in 25 minutes, faster than any show since Beyonce, and the Rolling Stone stating “they have the makings of genuine superstars,” tour dates are expected to sell out quickly. Early pre-sale tickets will be available for the fall U.S. arena tour to save fans on ticketing fees before they go on sale to the general public on Friday, June 28th. Also, as an added plus, hip hop artists Talib Kweli and Big K.R.I.T. will be joining the tour, adding their own unique vocal elements.
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis have taken popular culture by storm with their extremely innovative smash hit hip hop album ‘The Heist’, which was #1 on iTunes, #2 on the Billboard charts and independently produced, succeeding without any of the support offered by a traditional record label. Tracks “Thrift Shop” and “Can’t Hold Us,” each have over 60 and 350 million views on YouTube while “Same Love,” a track supporting marriage rights equality, has become a source of encouragement and pride for young fans and voters.
