Marcus King will go acoustic for an intimate duo tour with guitarist Drew Smithers this winter. The stretch of 17 shows in December 2024 and January 2025 was inspired by a recent acoustic show King played in his adopted hometown of Nashville at the 90-person capacity Bluebird Cafe.

“After thinking more about the wonderful shows at Nashville’s iconic Bluebird Cafe and the up close and personal fan experience, we decided why keep it to one night only?” King wrote on social media. “I’m thrilled to announce that myself and my good pal and wicked guitarist, Drew Smithers, will be taking this show on the road on an intimate run of acoustic dates this winter!”

The run of intimate acoustic evenings will kick off December 4th in Helotes, TX and run through January 27th when it wraps in Jackson, WY. Along the way, King and his sideman will visit the Southwest for shows in Albuquerque, NM (12/6), Flagstaff, AZ (12/7) and Tuscon, AZ (12/14) around a run of California shows in Napa (12/9), Solana Beach (12/10), and two nights at L.A.’s Troubadour (12/12–12/13). King will also stop in Jackson, MS (12/17), Shreveport, LA (12/19), Little Rock, AR (12/20), and The Caverns in Pelham, TN (12/21) before tabling the tour until the new year. In 2025, King will finish off the acoustic tour with a series of Colorado shows in Telluride (1/23), Beaver Creek (1/24), and Steamboat Springs (1/25) before closing it in Wyoming. After the acoustic tour, King and his full band will travel to Australia to open for Chris Stapleton on his All-American Road Show Goes Down Under tour.
