Marcus King has shared an acoustic video performance of “Wildflowers & Wine”, which features The Black Keys‘ frontman, Dan Auerbach. The expressive song initially dropped as a single from his 2020 release, El Dorado.

The video begins with King passionately singing and plucking the opening lines at Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound studios in Nashville, TN. As the camera pans, it focuses on Auerbach, who adds complementary licks to the track which he produced and co-wrote along with King and Ronnie Bowman. They were accompanied by studio musicians who have played with the likes of Aretha Franklin and Elvis, complimenting the soulful nature of the tune. King’s emotional vocals rang out as Auerbach ended the performance with a bluesy lick.

“It’s not the exact set-up we used, but all the instrumentation on that track was played live together as a cohesive unit and not overdubbed,” King said in a statement to Billboard. “That’s what gives it that taste, that live feel.”

The six-string rocker is amidst his El Dorado world tour and will play tonight (2/15) at the Ogden Theatre in Denver, CO before heading to Europe, Japan, and beyond. Additionally, he will perform at the Love Rocks charity event at the Beacon Theatre in New York, NY on March 12 alongside The Black Crowes, Dave Matthews, Warren Haynes, and more.
