Americana singer, songwriter, and guitarist Margo Price has shared her official music video for “All American Made”, the title track off her 2017 studio album released via Third Man Records in October of last year. The video was filmed in various locations (eight cities in five states to be exact) across the United States over a nine-day span. Instead of hiring actors or models to help bring the folk ballad to life, directors Kimberly Stuckwisch and Carlos Lopez Estrada filmed the video through the lives of real Americans to authenticate Price’s lyrics about what it really means to live in this country in 2018.

The video shows Price splitting camera time with American citizens of all ages and ethnic backgrounds. The clip’s relaxed tempo matches perfectly with the slower rhythm of the tune, but don’t let the dim lighting and melancholy faces fool you—the song is just as inspiring as it is solemnly realistic. Price makes sure to mix in plenty of audio clips featuring the dialogue of news reports to put her view of the current state of the union into full perspective. The singer can also be seen sitting in what appears to be a small home but is actually an artificial house being driven on a flatbed truck, as Stuckwisch explains.

“We built a house on a flatbed truck where we see Margo cruising down highways throughout the United States,” Stuckwisch said in a statement to go with the new video. “At one point, a wall breaks off and it opens her up to the world. The idea behind that was to show that we are all protected in our own little worlds, in our own houses.”

Price also added her take, noting, “All across America we’ve got people who all really want the same thing but have a different way of getting there. They might have a couple fundamental, core values they disagree on, but at the heart of the matter, we’re all just humans living on this planet, trying to survive, trying to raise our kids and our families.”

Price will also be sharing a behind-the-scenes video about the making of the music video exclusively to Tidal on Wednesday. The forthcoming clip will also include an interview with Price and the video’s two directors. The full Margo Price interview on her new video can be read here.

Margo Price has remained busy and on the road since releasing All American Made last October. Of note, over the past few weeks, she’s become an honorary member of the extended Grateful Dead family by joining both Phil Lesh and Bob Weir on stage during their respective fall tours. Price will continue her own American journey with more upcoming tour dates in November and December and into next year. For a full list of Margo Price’s upcoming tour dates, head to her website here.
