It’s Hammer Time, baby! MC Hammer will head out for his first major concert tour since 1991 this spring and summer when his House Party Tour kicks off on April 6th in Tallahassee, FL. The rapper, who rose to prominence in the late 1980s and early 1990s with mega-hits like “U Can’t Touch This”, will be joined on the all-star nostalgia run by a mix of colleagues who are also heavily connected to that musical era including En Vogue, Sir Mix-a-Lot, Kid ‘n Play, Sisqo, Doug E Fresh, Tone Loc, Montell Jordan, Tag Team, Rob Base, Young MC, DJ Kool, Biz Markie, Coolio, The Funky Bunch (sans Marky Mark Wahlberg), and 2 Live Crew.
The 12-date tour will take the mix of throwback performers across the United States starting with a run of shows along the west coast in California, Nevada, and Colorado. The tour will then head east across the midwest with more stops in Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, and Texas before wrapping with a performance in Maryland Heights, Missouri on August 9th. The lineup for each show will vary from city to city, but MC Hammer will be involved with every performance.
“Hammer continues to be one of our top clients, and he’s one of the hardest working and most giving people I know,” MC Hammers agent Jeff Epstein said of the upcoming tour in a statement. “The demand for him as a performer has actually increased while he’s been off the touring circuit. He truly is 2 legit to quit!”
