The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has revealed that Scott Weiland’s official cause of death was accidental overdose. According to a report published in the local KARE11 affiliate, Weiland had cocaine, methamphetamines, and ethanol in his system at the time of death.
The former Stone Temple Pilots singer was found dead on his tour bus two weeks ago, on December 3rd, 2015. He was 48 years old at the time, on the road with his recently formed touring band the Wildabouts.

The report also shows that Weiland struggled with drug addiction, as well as complications with heart disease and asthma. The combination of drugs and disease proved lethal for the enormously talented singer.
