Meow Wolf Denver hosted an immersive and mind-expanding celebration for Bicycle Day, the unofficial holiday commemorating Dr. Albert Hofmann‘s first intentional LSD trip in 1943 and his fateful bicycle ride home from Sandoz Labs.
Presented by PORTAL, the event featured a mind-expanding lineup of music, talks, and interactive experiences that honored the cultural and scientific impact of psychedelics. Visuals, roaming performers, guided meditations, and spontaneous shenanigans filled the immersive venue. With opening remarks from Meow Wolf founder Vince Kadlubek, psychedelic activist Veronica Lightning Horse Perez, noted LSD manufacturer Leonard Pickard, and Zach Leary, son of famed psychologist and psychedelic advocate Timothy Leary, the night blended reverence and playfulness in equal measure.

Headliners Reggie Watts, LP Giobbi (performing her Dead House set), and comedian Duncan Trussell anchored the night’s eclectic programming, supported by a wide cast of thought leaders, musicians, and performers across multiple stages and experiential zones.
Highlights included a Sound Journey with David Starfire and Borahm Lee (Break Science), a humorous and insightful session on Playboy Billionaire Shamanism with Dennis Walker, and a soul-nourishing Cuddle Puddle led by Kai Empathogenics. Zach Leary and Leonard Pickard held story time in the Ossuary, and journalist, documentarian, and psychoactive drug researcher Hamilton Morris (Hamilton’s Pharmacopeia) hosted a Fireside Chat about the deeper science and history of psychoactive substances.
The “Unprogram” featured dynamic dance sets including a Psychedelic Hoedown and a cathartic Ecstatic Dance with Bloomurian and Tom LaFond & Friends, while Emily Rowed’s Sound Healing Set at the Blue Sound Spa provided contrast, offering gentler, restorative vibes amid the sensory overload.
