Metallica has officially extended its M72 World Tour to include 21 new North American shows set to take place in April, May, and June 2025. The 2025 North American leg of the Metallica M72 World Tour will feature a mix of two-night “No Repeat Weekends” (with each night featuring different setlists and different openers) and one-off dates in various markets. Supporting acts due to be featured on the tour include Pantera, Suicidal Tendencies, Limp Bizkit, and Ice Nine Kills [get tickets].
Since opening April 2023 in Amsterdam, the M72 tour has seen Metallica play to some three million fans. The tour’s 2024 leg is set to come to a close with four nights at Mexico City’s Estadio GNP Seguros, where Metallica will play to more than 250,000 fans over the course of two No Repeat Weekends (9/20 and 9/22, 9/27 and 9/29). The band will also perform an intimate Helping Hands Concert benefit at Inglewood, CA’s YouTube Theater to support Metallica’s All Within My Hands charity.
The new slate of 2025 shows will begin on April 12th with a headlining play at Las Vegas, NV’s Sick New World festival and continue through the end of June, when the run will wrap up with a No Repeat Weekend at Denver, CO’s Empower Field at Mile High (6/27, 6/29). The tour will also include Metallica’s first Nashville shows in five years at Nissan Stadium (5/1, 5/3), the band’s return to Tampa after 15 years at Raymond James Stadium (6/6, 6/8), a two-night headlining engagement at Columbus, OH’s Sonic Temple festival (5/9, 5/11), and a highly anticipated Bay Area hometown stand in Santa Clara, CA marking the group’s first shows at Levi’s Field (6/20, 6/22).
Highlights from the on-off portion of the tour schedule include stops at JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse, NY (4/19) and Lane Stadium in Blacksburg, VA, where the Virginia Tech Hokies have taken the field to the sounds of “Enter Sandman” for more than two decades.

Additionally, the tour announcement notes that Metallica plans to extend the 2025 leg of the M72 tour to include the band’s long-awaited return to Australia and New Zealand at a later date.
A portion of proceeds from every ticket sold will go to local charities via the band’s All Within My Hands foundation. Established in 2017 as a way to give back to communities that have supported Metallica over the years, All Within My Hands has raised over $15 million, providing $8.2 million in grants to career and technical education programs including the ground-breaking Metallica Scholars Initiative, now in its sixth year, over $3.6 million to combat food insecurity, and more than $3.5 million to disaster relief efforts.

Citi cardmembers will have access to pre-sale tickets from Tuesday, September 24th at 10:00 a.m. local time until Thursday, September 26th at 10:00 p.m. local time through the Citi Entertainment program. Verizon will also offer an exclusive pre-sale for the M72 tour in the U.S. through Verizon Access, just for being a customer. Verizon Access Pre-sale tickets for select shows will be available from Tuesday, September 24th at 10:00 a.m. local time until Thursday, September 26th at 10:00 p.m. local time. Note: Citi and Verizon presales will not be available for Sick New World, Sonic Temple, or the Toronto dates. Verizon presale will not be available for the Nashville, Blacksburg, or Landover shows.
