Mickey Hart has revealed the musicians set to join him for the Mickey and The Miracles superjam at the inaugural Dead Ahead festival next month in Mexico. The Grateful Dead drummer will collaborate with artists from across the musical spectrum including Derek Trucks (Tedeschi Trucks Band), Jay Lane (Dead & Company), and more on Friday, December 12th.

Helmed by Hart, the Noche de Ondas (night of waves) late-night set will feature TTB guitarist Derek Trucks alongside his bandmate Isaac Eady, who will trade his drumsticks for a bass guitar. In addition to Lane and Hart, The Miracles will also include Latin percussionists Giovanni Hidalgo and Karl Perazzo. As explained in a social media post announcing the lineup, the goal was to transcend stylistic boundaries.

“Mickey and the Miracles will be 90 minutes of cosmic exploration that brings you into the now,” a post to the Dead Ahead page reads. “This music ties together many musical worlds; the world of Blues through the soulful slide guitar of Derek Trucks, the world of Latin music through the percussion mastery of Giovanni Hidalgo and Karl Perazzo, the world of New Orleans Funk through the bass playing of Isaac Eady, and the world of rock and roll through the tight and energetic drumming of Jay Lane and the cosmic sounds from the mind of Mickey Hart. Pow Pow into the Now!”
