Sunday night of the second weekend of Jazz Fest provides one last chance to enjoy the musical magic of New Orleans. After ten days of non-stop music across the city, Sunday is the last hurrah, the time to say goodbye to another year of unmatchable performances from unique groups of artists. This year, on Sunday, May 7th, the exciting “Michael Jackson vs. Stevie Wonder” tribute will return to Jazz Fest for its third consecutive year, descending on The Howlin’ Wolf to close things down just after Zigaboo Modeliste’s 19th Annual Funk Revue finishes up. This year’s lineup is straight out of control.

EXCLUSIVE: Zigaboo Modeliste Details Late-Night Jazz Fest Traditions Ahead Of 19th Annual Funk Revue

The project was originally started as a trio between Eric “Benny” Bloom, Adam Deitch, and Wil Blades, and all three of those extremely talented musicians will be on hand for this edition of “MJ vs. Stevie.” Joining them will be Deitch and Bloom’s energetic Lettuce teammate, vocalist Nigel Hall, along with Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe guitar player DJ Williams, and mysterious former Prince bassist MonoNeon, who is emerging from Internet fame to join a number of impressive lineups during this year’s Jazz Fest late night series.

This is a sure-to-be-outrageous show, with a lineup that’s jam-packed with ridiculous talent at every instrument, performing the catalogs of two of the most beloved artists to grace funk, soul, and pop music. Rising stars Organ Freeman will also be on hand to add to the fun, as they’ll turn in a late-night set in “The Den” just after MJ vs. Stevie finishes up.

See below for full information on this Michael Jackson vs. Stevie Wonder tribute that continues to be one of the most interesting and special shows at Jazz Fest each year.
