The perennial jam band moe. has just announced an acoustic set at the City Winery on January 13th, opening for the supergroup Trigger Hippy.

While moe. is best known for their electrically-powered instrumentation, the band is no stranger to the acoustic. Their most recent album, What Happened to the La La’s (2012), featured a bonus second disc with acoustic renditions of the songs from the first disc.  Here’s a recording of the acoustic version of Lazarus from that album.

The main performance will be the band Trigger Hippy, a collection of esteemed musicians from various well-known bands. The current line-up includes Black Crowes drummer Steve Gorman, guitarist Tom Bukovac, singer Joan Osborne, guitarist Jackie Greene, and bassist Nick Govrik.

These two bands, at an intimate venue like City Winery, should make for a wonderful night of music.

Tickets will be released at 5PM… TONIGHT! You can purchase them here.
