On Saturday night, Brooklyn-based funk/jazz trio Moon Hooch continued their 2019 fall tour with a performance at The Stache at The Intersection in Grand Rapids, MI. The show featured support from live electronic outfit Jaw Gems.

Members of the band—comprised of Wenzl McGowen (Tenor Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone, Contrabass Clarinet, Tubes, EWI), Mike Wilbur (Tenor Saxophone, Vocals, Synth), and James Muschler (Drums)—first met while attending The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music and got their start as a band busking at New York City subway stations.

Moon Hooch showered the receptive Grand Rapids crowd with a hearty helping of their saxophone-based concoction of funk, jazz, rock, soul, and everything in between.
