As we approach the 20th anniversary of Kurt Cobain’s tragic demise, the Seattle Police department developed never before seen photos from his death scene. Earlier in the month, the cold case officer who briefly reexamined the case, finding nothing new, released two photographs to the public. Now the department has shared over two dozen more photos from the scene in an attempt to dispel conspiracy rumors that Kurt’s death was not by suicide.

CBS News stated,

“For the first time, a number of the photos show exactly how Cobain left what police say was a suicide note. It was on top of a planter in the greenhouse with a pen stuck through the center of the note. Although a copy of the note has been previously released, these photos of its placement in the greenhouse have not been.

Other photos depict the scene where Cobain’s body was found: a sparse greenhouse room above a detached garage, with one stool as the lone piece of furniture. There are pictures of Cobain’s heroin kit authorities say was found at the scene, complete with syringes and other paraphernalia kept in a cigar box.”

Kurt died April 5, 1994. A poignant excerpt from Kurt’s suicide note:

“There’s good in all of us and I think I simply love people too much, so much that it makes me feel too fucking sad. The sad little, sensitive, unappreciative, Pisces, Jesus man. Why don’t you just enjoy it? I don’t know!”
