Anyone who has ever lied awake at night in an empty hotel room in a foreign city will be able to relate to the new Morgan Wade single “2AM in London”. The standalone track follows previous solitary single “Halloween” from October, preceded by her incendiary 2023 sophomore album Psychopath.

If there is anyone who can accurately capture the feeling of loneliness out on the road, teetering on the edge of your demons, it’s Morgan Wade (and Jason Isbell). All the miles spent traveling and late nights overtaken by temptations emanate through the speakers with each fingerpick of her guitar and utterance of her raspy Virginia drawl. “2AM in London” is no exception, coming right out of the gate with the opening lines, “There’s a mini bar in my room / I asked the hotel to take it out / I know what it’s like when it’s late at night / And my mind talks good and loud.”

But Morgan Wade is much more than just someone overcoming her worst impulses. Beyond hedonistic appetites, the song confronts the reality of being hundreds or thousands of miles away from someone special and just wanting to come home. Wade doesn’t just stop there though, as her vivid storytelling puts listeners right there in the hotel room between the neighbors that scream and the TV screen keeping you up until “2AM in London”.

Wade previously debuted “2AM in London” live onstage in December at a benefit concert in her hometown of Floyd, VA. At the fundraiser for local fire departments, she also debuted another new song, “Life With You”, which strikes a more positive tone of gratitude for finally finding “the one.”

Listen to Morgan Wade’s new single “2AM in London” below and watch her debut it live at the Floyd Country Store last year. Wade has a run of headlining spring tour dates before joining up with Alanis Morisette for a summer amphitheater tour. For tickets and a full list of tour dates visit Wade’s website.
