MusiCares will honor Joni Mitchell at its 2022 Person of the Year benefit concert on Saturday, January 29th, 2022, two nights before the 64th Grammy Awards.

Brandi Carlile, who has garnered five nominations at this year’s Grammy’s, and Jon Batiste, who led the field with 11 nominations, will serve as the Artistic Directors for the evening. Carlile, a long-time fan of Mitchell, recently paid homage to her with a full-album performance of Blue, an experience she recounted and relived on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert with this performance of “Blue”.

Furthermore, Black Pumas, Graham Nash, Herbie Hancock, James Taylor, Leon Bridges, Maggie Rogers, Mickey Guyton, and Pentatonix will also make musical appearances throughout the evening.

MusiCares will hold this year’s tribute at the Los Angeles Convention Center in California, which will include a reception and silent auction. Following a ceremonious dinner, artists will pay tribute to the iconic Joni Mitchell catalog, performing some of her most memorable songs while showcasing her timeless lyrics and unique talent for inspiring generations of musicians and songwriters.
