My Morning Jacket will hit the road on its first U.S. headlining tour in five years, the band announced on Tuesday. Kicking off on August 27th in Charlotte, NC, the tour will run through November and see the Jim James-led outfit joined by special guests Flock Of Dimes (August 27), Brittany Howard (September 3-11), Durand Jones & The Indications (September 23-October 3), and Bedouine (October 29-November 6).
The 23-date tour includes stops at iconic venues across the country including Merriweather Post Pavillion in Columbia, MD (9/7); The Greek Theatre in Berkley, CA (9/25); a Halloween show at The Orpheum Theater in New Orleans, LA; and more.
The tour also contains multiple-night runs at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, NY (9/10, 9/11); Paramount Theatre in Seattle, WA (10/1, 10/2); and the tour-closing three-night stand at Chicago’s Auditorium Theatre (11/4–6).
In addition to the headlining gigs, the summer/fall tour includes festival appearances as Railbird Festival in Lexington, KY (8/28); Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, TN (9/4); Ohana Festival in Dana Point, CA (9/24); and Suwannee Hulaween in Live Oak, FL (10/30).
A fan pre-sale for tickets to the 2021 My Morning Jacket summer/fall U.S. tour begins on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. local and continues through Thursday at 10 p.m. local. All remaining tickets will be released to the general public on Friday at 10:00 a.m. local except for the Chicago shows, which go on sale on Friday at noon local.
