My Morning Jacket visited Chicago last weekend for a three-night run at The Salt Shed. Throughout the course of the 60-plus song weekend, My Morning Jacket celebrated Radiohead and Neil Young, before closing out the run with a full-album performance of Z for the album’s 20th anniversary.
The Kentucky psych-pop band planned three unique setlists for the weekend, beginning on Friday with a show that saw the tour’s first “Thank You Too!” and “A New Life” off frontman Jim James‘ 2013 solo album, Regions of Light and Sound of God. That night also saw My Morning Jacket close the set with “The National Anthem” by Radiohead, sandwiched in the middle of “Run Thru”. This marked only the band’s fifth performance of the Kid A track, following its debut at last year’s One Big Holiday in Mexico.
Similarly, on Saturday night, the main set came to a close with a classic cover—this time, “Like A Hurricane” by Neil Young—seguing into a fan-favorite original, “One Big Holiday”. Saturday marked MMJ’s second-ever performance of “Like A Hurricane”, following its debut at this year’s One Big Holiday, a debut that featured a guest spot from S.G. Goodman.
Finally, after honoring its varied influences on Friday and Saturday, My Morning Jacket closed the weekend on Sunday by celebrating the mark it has left on the past 27 years of neo-psychedelic pop-rock. After skipping around its discography with tracks as old as 1999’s The Tennessee Fire and new as 2025’s is, MMJ staged a full-album performance of 2005’s classic Z. This marked the band’s fourth of five full-album performances to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the landmark release, following recreations at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, the Hollywood Palladium, and Brooklyn Paramount. The band staged the final full-album performance at Saturday’s tour-closer at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre.

MMJ is off the road until April 2026 for a set at High Water Festival, followed by a performance at Goose’s Viva El Gonzo in May. Find tickets and tour dates on the band’s website.
