My Morning Jacket brought S.G. Goodman along to Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville for an electrifying night showcasing the band’s signature mix of atmospheric rock, soulful ballads, and genre-blurring experimentation. The historic venue provided an intimate backdrop for a setlist full of surprises, tour debuts, and fan favorites.

The night kicked off with a haunting rendition of “Dondante”, setting a dramatic tone from the start. From there, the band shifted gears into the funky groove of “Touch Me I’m Going to Scream Pt. 1”.

MMJ continued to pull from various corners of their catalog, with “The Way That He Sings” and “Anytime” providing emotional highs. The set’s early portion also featured “Aren’t We One?” and “Least Expected”, two more recent tracks that showcase the band’s evolving sound. The optimistic energy of “Love Love Love” brought warmth to the room.

The Knoxville crowd was treated to the tour debut of “Highly Suspicious”, a track that injected a burst of playful, off-kilter funk into the set, but the surprises didn’t stop there—tour debuts of “I Needed It Most” and “I Never Could Get Enough” followed.

“Cobra”, another tour debut, took the audience on an expansive, genre-spanning journey that highlighted the band’s improvisational prowess and willingness to push boundaries. The set continued with an exhilarating cover of Radiohead’s “The National Anthem”, complete with a Slayer “South of Heaven” snippet woven into the bass intro.

As the night progressed, My Morning Jacket returned to familiar ground with “Touch Me I’m Going to Scream Pt. 2” and “Smokin’ From Shootin'”, both of which kept the energy high. The set closed with an uplifting and reflective “X-Mas Curtain”.

For the encore, MMJ returned with the ethereal “Feel You”, setting a dreamy tone before diving into the sweeping epic “Circuital”. The night ended on a high with fan favorite “Phone Went West”.
