With the new Interludes For The Dead album just released via Rhino Records, the Neal Casal-led band Circles Of The Sun has just released their very first music video to support the project. The music was all composed for the setbreaks during the Fare Thee Well celebration of the Grateful Dead’s 50th anniversary, written and jammed out by Casal and an all-star ensemble of Gratefully-inspired musicians.

The first video highlights the track “Gilbert’s Groove.” Casal told us about the song’s inspiration in a recent interview, saying, “Gilbert Shelton is a great artist. He did the artwork for The Grateful Dead’s Shakedown Street album. That song ‘Gilbert’s Groove’ is a nod to ‘Shakedown Street.’ We did choose certain titles that would be a tip of the hat to The Grateful Dead songs that they reference.

The full Circles Around The Sun band includes bassist Dan Horne, drummer Mark Levy, and keyboardist Adam MacDougall. For more information about the album, head to Dead.net.
