An all-star lineup featuring Willie Nelson, his sons Lukas and MicahJakob DylanDhani Harrison, and Amos Lee has shared a cover of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers‘ “For Real”, which they titled “For Real—For Tom”.

“For Real” was originally recorded by Petty in 2000, but wasn’t released until after his death in 2017, when it appeared on the posthumous collection, The Best of Everything, this past February. The new track premiered Thursday on Sirius XM’s Tom Petty Radio and is available on streaming platforms now. In addition, all proceeds from the single will benefit The Midnight Mission, a dual homeless shelter and homeless service center in Los Angeles, a cause which was dear to Petty and which he supported throughout his career.

The song features tender interplay between a smattering of people who were, like millions of listeners, touched in some way by Tom Petty and his music. The song’s lyrics poignantly underscore the charitable nature of the single with the refrain, “But I did it for real/Would’ve done it for free/I did it for me/’Cause it was all that rang true/I did it for real/And I did it for you.”

This star-studded lineup is somewhat reminiscent of the Traveling Wilburys, the supergroup Petty helped form in 1988 alongside Bob Dylan (Jakob’s father), George Harrison (Dhani’s father), Jeff Lyne, and Roy Orbison. Now, Dylan and Harrison’s sons have joined forces along with the Nelson family and Amos Lee to pay tribute to a man whose influence is inscribed throughout the American songbook.
