A New Album From A Tribe Called Quest Is Coming Out In Just Two Weeks

This is not a drill. Q-Tip has confirmed that a new album from A Tribe Called Quest is not only recorded, but it’s set for release on November 11th.

A new release has been rumored for the last couple of months, after Epic Records CEO L.A. Reid confirmed that the group’s members had been recording a new project in an interview. No details were given at that time, however, leaving fans hopeful but ultimately clueless as to when this album would be on the way.

Today, however, we have the full story. Q-Tip posted an image on Facebook, explaining that the group’s reunion performance on The Tonight Show last year ultimately inspired them to record new music. Though the band suffered a tragedy in the passing of Phife Dawg, they were able to capture new and “pure” verses from the legend.
