Live Nation is set to open a new 19,000-capacity outdoor venue in Shakopee, MN, just a stone’s throw from the “Twin Cities” Minneapolis and Saint Paul. Named after the nearby Mystic Lake Casino HotelMystic Lake Amphitheater will be the largest outdoor amphitheater in the state of Minnesota.

Josh Lacey, Minnesota Market President for Live Nation, told Bring Me The News that booking has already begun for the new shed’s inaugural season. “We’re working towards a full summer 2026 schedule,” he said, adding, “We anticipate hosting top-tier touring talent from a broad range of genres, and hopefully have something for everybody.”

Lacey went on to characterize the venue as surprisingly intimate for its size, which is comparable to that of nearby indoor arenas Xcel Energy Center and Target Center. The bowl-shaped amphitheater will offer a mix of seated and standing space, as well as more than a dozen luxury suites “built for comfort and hospitality, and for guests looking for a premium experience,” according to Lacey.

In addition to drawing major touring acts and music fans to the Twin Cities, Live Nation anticipates the new venue will bring 700 jobs to the region and inject approximately $138 million into the local economy annually. Construction of the amphitheater also coincides with the development of Shakopee’s social district, which is set to launch next month and will allow alcoholic beverages to be carried outside between businesses in approved areas.
