The Red Hot Chili Peppers have been making music since 1983 and have hosted a rotating cast of characters throughout the years. From 1993-1995, Dave Navarro played guitar for the Chili Peppers, replacing John Frusciante. During that time, he participated in the recording of the band’s 1995 LP One Hot Minute. They took the music on an epic world tour that eventually led them back into the studio for a follow-up record. Unfortunately, Navarro’s substance abuse and drug addiction impeded the process, eventually forcing him to leave the band with an unfinished record.
No physical evidence came of this collaboration, until yesterday when a song magically appeared on the Internet entitled “Circle Of The Noose”. The song was first tweeted by RHCP, to which Navarro responded, “WOW what a trip down memory lane! Thanks :)”.
The Jane’s Addiction guitar player actually mentioned the RHCP song specifically in an interview back in 1997, saying, “One of the songs we’ve done is the greatest pop song I’ve ever been a part of … It’s pop in the sense of verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, hook. I really love it and we use a loop of [qawwali singer] Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. It’s really nice. The best way I can describe it is it’s like pepped- up ’60s folk with ’90s ideals, but I would hate to label it as folk because it’s not, it moves.”

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are currently finishing up a new album, of which Flea describes in an interview: “It’s cool. It’s super danceable, funky shit and some real introspective, pretty stuff. It feels good, man, and it’s fun to play it.” It will be their 11th studio album following up their 2011 I’m With You.
