You know you’ve made it when they’re naming a street after you. Some 40+ years after the Ramones met at Forest Hills High School, a street on the corner of 67th Avenue and 110th Street near the Queens, NY school will be renamed “The Ramones Way” in honor of the punk icons. All four original band members, Jeffrey Hyman (Joey), Thomas Erdelyi (Tommy), Douglas Colvin (Dee Dee), and John Cummings (Johnny), grew up in the Forest Hills neighborhood.

The news of the new street comes by way of DNAInfo, which reports that a bill to introduce co-names for 65 NYC streets was recently approved by the City Council, and is just awaiting a signature from Mayor Bill DeBlasio. There is also currently a street near the old CBGB on Bowery Street and 2nd Avenue, named after Joey Ramone.
