In what will be his first public appearance since cancelling his tour dates last August, Grateful Dead member Bob Weir will team up with Phil Lesh and Tim Flannery to sing the National Anthem before tomorrow night’s San Francisco Giants playoff game. The appearance was first reported by Deadheadland, and confirmed by Terrapin Crossroads, the Lesh-owned venue in San Rafael, CA, just outside of San Francisco.

The song marks Weir’s first public appearance, as well as Weir and Lesh’s first appearance together since January. The two were scheduled for a one-off Furthur performance at this year’s Lockn’ Festival, but Weir bowed out from that event. Meanwhile, Tim Flannery is a longtime friend of the two Dead members, and personally shared a message from Weir shortly after the cancellation. Flannery himself is both a musician and a former ballplayer, and is currently the third-base coach for the Giants.

The trio teamed up in 2012 for a similar patriotic occasion. Watch that below:

As The Dead hail from San Francisco, this pairing is bound to excite hometown fans before what is sure to be an exciting playoff game.
