The first-ever George Fest is set to take place in the historic El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, CA, and an all-star cast of musicians have signed on to participate in this George Harrison commemorative event. The concert will be held on Saturday, September 28th, with proceeds going to Sweet Relief, a charity that supports struggling careered musicians.

The festival is hosted by the Cabin Down Below Band, and a lineup that includes Brian Wilson, Norah Jones, Brandon Flowers & Mark Stoermer (of The Killers), Wayne Coyne & Steven Drozd (of The Flaming Lips), Ben Harper, Ann Wilson (of Heart), Britt Daniel (of Spoon), “Weird Al” Yankovic, Nick Valensi (of The Strokes), Dhani Harrison, Ian Astbury, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Butch Walker, Cold War Kids, Karen Elson, Brian Bell (of Weezer), Big Black Delta, Chase Cohl, Jamestown Revival, Matt Sorum, Ryan Miller (of Guster), The Black Ryder and Ginnger Shankar. Surprise guests are expected to perform as well.

The event is organized by Best Fest, a group that has put on Dylan Fest, Stones Fest, and Petty Fest throughout the years. Expect an excellent day of music, and a moving tribute to the former Beatle. Tickets go on sale today, September 5th, at 10 AM Pacific, via AXS.com.
