In a new interview with the Sydney Morning Herald, artist Damon Albarn sat down to discuss his latest solo release, Everyday Robots. The article was an in-depth look into the making of that album, from lyrics to production, but also mentioned one of Albarn’s famed collaborations, The Gorillaz.

The nod was subtle, as the SMH article writes, “Albarn is currently writing a West End theatre musical adaptation of a children’s book, is in the process of reactivating Gorillaz for a 2016 release and is trying to find time to record a new The Good, the Bad & The Queen album, which he says is fully written.”

While we’re not sure exactly what a reactivation of the Gorillaz entails, it’s certainly exciting news to hear that the group will be releasing new music in the future. The virtual collaboration between Albarn and Jamie Hewlett has not released a new album since 2011’s The Fall.
