This past Saturday night, our favorite little hot mess, Miley Cyrus, played the Staples Center in L.A. Not that the show was a monumental occurrence in and of itself, but one particular segment of the show (well, two, actually) got us excited enough to stick our own tongues out. Cyrus, who has made her love for The Flaming Lips crystal clear, brought out Wayne Coyne and Steven Drozd to perform “Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Pt. 1” with her and the rest of her band.

Coyne recently told Rolling Stone, I like her aesthetic more than a Lady Gaga, who this year to me feels like, ‘Take me serious’ and Miley’s like, ‘I don’t give a fuck,’ which to me is always a lot more fun,” he said. “I really like that thing where the people are inside the rainbow and they walk around. I just like that sort of stuff.”

Oh, and that second thing that got us excited….with Katy Perry sitting in the first row, Cyrus climbed down to to the audience and kissed Perry, afterwards saying, “I just kissed a girl and I really liked it.” We have absolutely no problems with any of that, whatsoever. For the record, we liked it too.
