Few bands are as legendary as The Who. Coming from the British invasion era, The Who rose from anonymity to become an unstoppable creative force. Fueled by Pete Townshend’s hard-hitting windmill chords, the uncontrollable drumming of Keith Moon, the powerful vocals of Roger Daltrey and the anchoring basslines from The Ox, John Entwistle, this band certainly has a great deal to celebrate for their 50th anniversary.

“The Who Hits 50!” was announced as a tour earlier this year, and later revealed that a compilation album would accompany the tour. Today, details have surfaced regarding that album, including a November 3rd release date, cover art (seen below), and a full tracklisting.

Perhaps the most intriguing addition to the compilation’s tracklisting is the title “Be Lucky,” the band’s first song since 2006. The track was recorded with surviving Who members Daltrey and Townshend, longtime touring members Pino Palladino (Bass), Zak Starkey (drums, son of Ringo Starr), and Dexy’s Midnight Runners keyboardist Mike Talbot. All proceeds from “Be Lucky” royalties will be donated to Teen Cancer America, a charity founded by Daltrey and Townshend.
