The 12th Annual Nolafunk Series During Jazz Fest has added a slew of new special guests to its 2025 lineup.
The new additions start with keyboardist Robert Walter (The Greyboy Allstars, Mike Gordon) and Goose drummer Cotter Ellis, who will join Voodoo Dead at Republic NOLA on April 25th and 26th, respectively. The two-night New Orleans tribute to the Grateful Dead will showcase a lineup comprising Steve Kimock and his son John Morgan Kimock, George Porter Jr., Jackie Greene, and moe.‘s Al Schnier. Night one will also feature Walter and previously announced special guest Grace Bowers, and on night two, Papa Mali will join the festivities while Cotter Ellis sits in on second drum kit alongside John Kimock for the entire show.
Also on the 26th, Samantha Fish and Tab Benoit will now feature Sierra Green and the Giants as the opening act over at The Civic Theatre.
Dead Feat has confirmed keyboardist John Papa Gros will join a lineup featuring Fred Tackett and Kenny Gradney of Little Feat, Anders Osborne, Jackie Greene, and Chad Cromwell at Republic NOLA on May 1st, while Daniel Donato’s Cosmic NOLA takes place at The Civic.
The Nth Power has also expanded the lineup for Earth, Wind & Power—an Earth, Wind & Fire tribute at Republic NOLA on May 2nd—with Eric Krasno joining previously announced special guests Jennifer Hartswick, Kanika Moore, Skerik, Nicholas Payton, and more.
The Nolafunk series is set to conclude the following night, Friday, May 2nd, with Anders Osborne’s Birthday Bash featuring special guests Dave Malone, Jackie Greene, Jennifer Hartswick, and Hans Williams, plus Dragon Smoke (featuring Ivan Neville, Eric Lindell, Stanton Moore, and Rob Mercurio)
