N.W.A. Plotting Reunion Tour With Eminem As Eazy-E

UPDATE: Reps for both Eminem and Dr. Dre have denied claims that either rapper will be joining N.W.A. for a reunion tour, according to NME.

All your 80s and 90s hip-hop dreams are coming to life. With the forthcoming release of N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton just around the corner, one of the most seminal hip-hop groups of all time is reportedly plotting a reunion tour. N.W.A.’s remaining living members —  Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, DJ Yella, and MC Ren — will be joined by Eminem in replacement of Eazy-E.

Universal chief Donna Langley, who is behind the film, spoke to the Hollywood Reporter of plans for the reunion tour. “We don’t have anything settled yet with everyone’s schedules,” she said, “but we think it can create a lot of buzz.”

The group (minus Dre) recently reunited for the first time in 26 years to a huge deal of hype at the BET Experience in Los Angeles, but apparently it was only the beginning of what’s to come.

Eminem also appears on the film’s soundtrack, which contains all brand new Dr. Dre-penned material. Kendrick Lamar is another special guest on the score.

We have no details regarding a timeline for the tour at this time, but you can anticipate the release of Straight Outta Compton, produced by Dr. Dre and Ice Cube, on August 14th.
