Openers Kasbo and Louis Futon engaged the audience with polished sets before ODESZA took the stage and blew the crowd away. Coming in strong with deep bass lines and ear-gripping drums, ODESZA played through their set fueled with passion.
Delivering a mix of old and new songs to fans, ODESZA rocked the crowd with original fan-favorites such as “Say My Name” and “All We Need”, as well as a number of famed remixes like Zhu’s “Faded” and Hayden James’ “Something About You”. They also debuted never before heard material to the sold out crowd.
The intimate Joy Theatre created the perfect atmosphere for ODESZA’s ethereal sound. The lighting and visuals paired perfectly with the soothing notes and ultimately produced an unforgettable vibe.
Eager to hear more, the enthusiastic crowd roared for an encore to which ODESZA closed out the evening with their booming remix to Alex Adair’s “Make Me Feel Better”, a track that varies from their usual style.
Emerging in 2012 shortly before graduating from Western Washington University, Harrison Mills (CatacombKid) and Clayton Knight (BeachesBeaches) paired up and broke ground with their smooth electronic sounds and distinctive melodies.
Their debut album, Summer’s Gone, gained immediate attention of the underground electronic music scene in 2012 and set the tone for their rise to popularity, followed by the release of their first EP, My Friends Never Die, in 2013 and their second LP, In Return, in 2014.
Twenty-four ODESZA songs have hit #1 on HypeMachine, including “How Did I Get Here” and “Memories That You Call”.
The live performance of ODESZA was nothing short of amazing, playing to an animated sold out crowd and doubling as an after party for VOODOO Fest New Orleans.
