moe. kicked off a two-night stint at the Saranac Brewery in Utica, NY last night, playing an energetic set that even included a “Hoppy Hour Hero” as a salute to the venue. The band was also greeted by a surprise guest, as original moe. drummer Ray Schwartz replaced Vinnie Amico for the first song of the second set.

Schwartz left the band shortly after they recorded Fatboy (1992), so naturally the band chose to play one of their Fatboy classics, “Don’t Fuck With Flo,” for the sit-in. moe. will return to the Saranac tomorrow night, and have a great summer tour lined up, including a spot at the Stone Pony with TAUK in August.
