With Dead & Company taking a break from touring for the rest of this year after their LOCKN’ performances, bassist Oteil Burbridge will keep busy with his own band this New Years. On December 29th, Oteil & Friends will perform at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York before heading to NYC’s Brooklyn Bowl on December 30th and 31st. The band will feature keyboardist Melvin Seals (Jerry Garcia Band), guitarists Eric Krasno (Lettuce/Soulive) and John Kadlecik (Furthur, Dark Star Orchestra), drummer Jay Lane (Furthur Primus), vocalist Jennifer Hartswick (Trey Anastasio Band), and percussionist Weedie Braimah (Trombone Shorty, The Nth Power).

A pre-sale window for the Brooklyn Bowl and The Capitol Theatre shows will begin on Thursday, August 16th from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. (ET) with the password: “OBNY”. Public on-sale begins on Friday, August 17th at 10 a.m. for Brooklyn Bowl and 1 p.m. for The Capitol Theatre.

In October of 2017, Burbridge released his long-awaited studio record, Water In The DesertWith elements of funk, soul, jazz, and beyond, the concept of love is beautifully executed on the 9-track record. Oteil kicked off his inaugural tour with Oteil & Friends in support of the album, playing to rave reviews throughout their run. Burbridge and his Friends have gone on to schedule a handful of festival dates throughout this year, with live shows have included songs from Water In The Desert as well as covers of the Grateful Dead, Jerry Garcia Band, Allman Brothers Band, Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, and many more more.
