Last night, Oteil Burbridge concluded his highly-anticipated Oteil & Friends tour with a performance at the Baltimore Sound Stage in Maryland. In addition to his brand new solo album, Water In The Desert, and his upcoming Fall Tour with Dead & Company, Oteil recruited a truly badass band for a 10-show tour of his own featuring John Kadlecik (guitar/vocals), Eric Krasno (guitar/vocals), Melvin Seals (organ), Jay Lane (Drums), Alfreda Gerald (vocals), and Weedie Braimah (percussion). For the tour closer, saxophonist Ron Holloway joined for a number of tunes, including covers of the Grateful Dead’s “Eyes of the World”, The Band’s “The Weight”, and returned with the encore for Eric Krasno’s “Unconditional Love”.

Oteil Burbridge Announces NYC Show With Scott Metzger

The band turned in a fantastic set comprised of favorited covers, including the Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, and many others, a song off Krasno’s 2016 solo album (“Unconditional Love”), the title track from Oteil’s new album (“Water in the Desert”), and much more. Each of the band’s talented members got their moment to shine, and yes–they did “Let Oteil Sing”! Thanks to SnookyFlowers, you can listen to the recording from Wednesday night’s show below:

While Oteil & Friends were slated to conclude tour tonight at Le Poisson Rouge in New York City, the sold-out show had to be rescheduled for Dead & Company’s last-minute appearance at Band Together: Benefit Concert For North Bay Fire Relief . As promised, the date has officially been rescheduled to January 15, 2018. While guitarist Eric Krasno is unable to make this date, guitarist Scott Metzger (Wolf!, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead) will perform in his place.
