Pantera will head out on what the iconic groove metal band has dubbed, The Heaviest Tour of the Summer. The 29-date trek will pair the latter-day lineup of original members Phil Anselmo and bassist Rex Brown plus guitarist Zakk Wylde and drummer Charlie Benante (Anthrax) with Swedish melodic death metal mainstay Amon Amarth and another opening act to be announced later [ticket information]
The summer tour of arenas and amphitheaters will begin on July 15th at The Pavilion at Star Lake in Burgettstown, PA. Pantera will visit familiar stages across the country including Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, OH (7/20), Northwell at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, NY (7/26), Broadview Stage at SPAC in Saratoga Springs, NY (7/26), American Family Insurance Amphitheater in Milwaukee, WI (8/6), Kia Forum in Inglewood, CA (8/27), Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas (9/3), Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville, IN (9/5), and many more before wrapping on September 13th at the iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, FL.
A pre-sale for tickets and VIP options to the Pantera Heaviest Tour of the Summer will begin on Tuesday, February 25th at 10 a.m. local venue time. These headlining shows will follow Pantera’s string of dates opening for Metallica on the band’s North American stadium tour. Then on July 5th, Pantera will take part in Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath‘s sold-out Back to the Beginning. Billed as the final performance by the metal icon, Back to the Beginning will feature an impressive undercard including Metallica, Pantera, Tool, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, Alice In Chains, Lamb of God, Mastodon, and many more at Birmingham’s Villa Park.
