Papadosio is back with the band’s first new, original release since 2020’s Microdosio, “Not Just A Word”. The single, written by guitarist/vocalist/producer Anthony Thogmartin, also signals the livetronic act’s first vocal track in four years.

Papadosio and Thogmartin waited for their punch on “Not Just A Word”, with the guitarist reflecting on his newfound fatherhood in the single. The track challenges our preconceived notions of love, making it “Not Just A Word” as service to another becomes the primary means of affection, “Love’s not just a word you know, water seeds and watch them grow / Full of patience, take it slow, what you honor takes it further,” the track begins.

“‘Not Just a Word’ is indeed a love song, but not in the traditional sense,” Thogmartin said in a press release. “Contrary to the prevailing sense of romantic love, NJAW provides a counter-narrative to the self-centered and self-serving lens we view love from in popular culture.

“From the perspective of a new father (water seeds and watch them grow) the self diminishes and what is there instead is an overwhelming sense of service and patience,” he continued. “From the perspective of a new romantic relationship (all in time, can’t make it happen any faster) tells the non-intuitive tale of how any lasting romance thrives in a space where it isn’t forced.”

Papadosio recently had to scrap plans for Resonance Music & Arts Festival, which the band was due to host at the Woodlands Nature Reserve in Charleston, SC from September 15th–17th. Earlier this week, Dorchester County suspended all concerts at the venue, leaving organizers Essential Productions with few options considering the festival was three weeks away.

Instead, Resonance will take place June 29th–July 1st, 2023 at Nelson Ledges Quarry Park in Garrettsville, OH. It will also mark the final edition of the festival which began in 2013 at Frontier Ranch in Pataskala, OH and continued at Legend Valley in Thornville, OH from 2014–2018. In recent years, the multi-disciplinary gathering has jumped around from Cooper’s Lake in Slippery Rock, PA in 2019 to Marvin’s Mountaintop in Masontown, WV in 2021.
