Papadosio will return to Red Rocks Amphitheatre on June 2nd with support from Dirtwire and Bluetech. The pilgrimage back to the storied Morrison, CO venue comes as the genre-blurring dynamic rockers return to the road after a long year of lockdown.

The June 2nd show will mark the Athens, OH-bred, Asheville, NC-based quintet’s first trek to Red Rocks since May 11th, 2019 with Random Rab and Polish Ambassador. Papadosio was slated to return on July 18th, 2020 for another show, but the pandemic caused the planned concert to be scrapped.

Though the group’s planned tour in support of new album Microdosio was derailed by COVID-19, the newfound limitations of the live music shutdown forced the band to do what it does best: improvise. Even with the loss of the Microdosio tour, Papadosio still saw the chance to deliver much-needed music to the band’s fans throughout the pandemic, regularly performing live as part of a series of free streams from bassist Rob McConnell‘s house.

Now, with restrictions across the country continuing to lift, COVID-19 cases dropping, and live music beginning to return in full, Papadosio will finally deliver the return to Red Rocks that fans have been waiting for.

Prior to the pandemic, fans were able to get a slight preview of the Microdosio Tour with a handful of shows, the last one taking place on March 11th, 2020 at Brooklyn Bowl in New York. For Red Rocks, the band will have all of its gear in tow but will still explore the stripped-down electronic approach to Microdosio, in addition to its vast catalog of fan-favorite tracks.

Last month, Papadosio celebrated its 15 year anniversary with a special run of drive-in shows in Waynesville, NC, not far from the band’s home base in Asheville. While a socially distant shows in a field full of cars likely wasn’t where the members of Papadosio imagined themselves 15 years ago when they formed in Southeastern Ohio, the run arrived at an exciting time for both the musicians and fans as life gradually returns to normal.

While those concerts were billed as the 15-year celebration for Papadosio, the band is adamant that the celebration will continue all year long—and next week’s Red Rocks performance promises to set the tone for yearlong celebration.
