On October 9th and 10th, Papadosio emerged from seven months of quarantine and returned to the stage for a two-night run of drive-in concerts at the Smoky Mountain Event Center in Waynesville, NC presented by Asheville Music Hall. On Friday, the band shared pro-shot footage of both concerts in their entirety which is available now on their YouTube.
These shows came after the jamtronic outfit was forced off the road back in March at the impetus of their Microdosio tour. Luckily the band’s central HQ in Asheville, NC allowed them to remain together throughout quarantine and continue to put on high quality livestreams from their base of operations with all members in tow.
As anticipated, these shows saw Papadosio embrace the Microdosio concept of scaled-down and simplified operations, as well as the songs from the new album. Night one featured four songs from Microdosio out of the total 15-song show, with three new tracks appearing consecutively at the beginning of the concert. The band didn’t just harp on their latest works, however, and also presented dedicated fans with an expansive swath of songs from throughout their nearly 15-year career.
Night two saw more of the same as Papadosio opened the show with “Cubensis” which flowed effortlessly into “Versicolor”—both from the new album—before bringing “Cubensis” back again. Taking the two evenings together, Papadosio played all nine tracks from Microdosio and 29 songs overall that stretched all the way back to their debut LP, 2007’s Magreenery.
