Parquet Courts have offered another preview of the band’s upcoming album, Sympathy For Life, with the new single, “Black Widow Spider”. Sympathy For Life is out on October 22nd via Rough Trade Records. Along with the single, the band has expanded its tour into 2022 with new dates across North America and Europe.

For Sympathy For Life, Parquet Courts crafted the new album out of a series of in-studio jam sessions. On “Black Widow Spider”, that energy is condensed into a 2:50 minute, straight-forward rocker that speaks to the group’s New York alt roots.

“I told [producer] Rodaidh McDonald that I wanted to find a sound that was equal parts Can, Canned Heat, and This Heat,” co-frontman A Savage said in a statement. “He was really into that and probably took some glee in having such a bizarre challenge.”
