Paul Simon last appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert back in January, when the famous singer and guitarist discussed his farewell tour and performed a pair of tunes from his beloved songbook. Simon was back at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City on Monday night, where he appeared on the show once again to perform a song from his hugely-successful 1986 Graceland album, “That Was Your Mother”.

Simon was joined in his performance of the lively, Cajun-themed rock tune by the show’s house band, Jon Batiste and Stay Human, in addition to the show’s host, who entertainingly sat in with the musicians while playing the washboard. Simon made sure to use his time in front of the national television cameras to prove that there’s still plenty of gas left in those dancing legs of his even at the age of 77. Fans can check out the video below to watch the energizing performance from last night’s episode.

Simon has kept a busy schedule since completing his “Homeward Bound” Farewell Tour with a hometown show in Queens, New York this past September. Recently it was announced that Simon would be one of the headliners at this year’s Outside Lands Music Festival in San Francisco. So much for post-touring retirement.
