[5/14/21]: The Peach Music Festival has confirmed the lineup for its 2021 event, set to take place at Scranton, PA’s Montage Mountain from July 1st–4th—making it the first major four-day music and camping festival of the year.

Heading up the 2021 Peach lineup is Oysterhead, the supergroup trio featuring guitarist Trey Anastasio (Phish), bassist Les Claypool (Primus), and drummer Stewart Copeland (The Police). The trio first came together on May 4th, 2000 for a late-night performance in New Orleans during Jazz Fest at the Saenger Theatre and, due to overwhelming demand, reformed in 2001 to record and release The Grand Pecking Order. After the North American tour that followed (and a one-off reunion at Bonnaroo in 2006), Oysterhead was out of action for nearly 15 years. The trio returned to action last year and announced a slew of tour dates—including a headlining slot at the scrapped 2020 edition of The Peach—but the pandemic intervened following two February reunion shows in Colorado.  Oysterhead’s headlining set at The Peach 2021 will now mark the band’s first show since the February 2020 reunion run.

Other headliners include Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, The String Cheese Incident, and Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, all performing two sets each.

In addition, Turkuaz will pay tribute to Talking Heads’ masterpiece Remain In Light by performing the album in its entirety with special guests Jerry Harrison, of Talking Heads, and Adrian Belew—both of whom can be heard on the original album. Much like Oysterhead, this Turkuaz/Harrison/Belew Remain In Light combo had big plans in store for the album’s 40th anniversary in 2020. Now, the 2021 Peach set will mark the first-ever live performance by the project.

The legacy of the festival’s founders, The Allman Brothers Band, is well-represented on this year’s Peach lineup, with founding ABB drummer Jaimoe, longtime guitarist Warren Haynes, and bassist Oteil Burbridge will all set to appear on various sets. Second-generation Brothers Devon Allman and Duane Betts will also perform with their group, The Allman Betts Band.

In addition, The Peach will honor the 50th anniversary of the Allmans’ iconic live album, At Fillmore East—released in July of 1971—with a special performance of the album. The band lineup for the At Fillmore East tribute has yet to be announced.

Also appearing at The Peach Music Festival 2021 are Umphrey’s McGee, moe., Oteil & Friends, Twiddle, Blackberry Smoke, Doom Flamingo, The Wild Feathers, Cordovas, Spafford, Dopapod, Keller Williams, Neal Francis, Andy Frasco & The U.N., TAUK, Aqueous, Ghost Light, Ballyhoo!, Nicole Atkins, Brandon “Taz” Niederauer, The Nth Power featuring Jennifer Hartswick, Kitchen DwellersThe Shady RecruitsCelisse, Magnolia Boulevard, Neighbor, Mikaela Davis, Thumpasaurus, Magic Beans, Los Colognes, Karina Rykman, Nick Perri & The Underground Thieves, Blind Boys of Alabama, CBDB, Yak Attack, Funk You, Keznamdi, The Fritz, Eggy, Dizgo, Gabriel Kelley, Serene Green, Yam Yam, Bobby Lee Rodgers, Great Peacock, Ida Mae, New Madrid, Mike Love, Chris Roberts, Sicard Hollow, and JB Strauss. Scott Sharrard will also gather a group of (still unannounced) friends to reprise the Peach Guitar Pull tradition started in 2019. Additional artists will be announced as the event draws closer.

In addition to the four days of live music with over 50 artists, this The Peach features food and craft vendors on the grounds and access to the scenic Montage Mountain Ski Resort’s large water park.

The Peach Music Festival began in 2012 as the first-ever Allman Brothers Band-inspired festival in the Northeast and has quickly evolved into one of the most highly-anticipated summer musical events in the country for the extended jam band scene.
