Phil Collins has been laying fairly low the last several years, since his “First Final Farewell” tour in support of his last album of original material, Testify, and the 47-date 2007 tour of Europe and North America with Genesis. Collins has also been suffering from nerve damage, which has made it nearly impossible for him to plays drums.

Showing up a recent premiere of the Tarzan musical in Stuttgart, Germany, Collins stated, “I have started thinking about doing new stuff….[Maybe playing] some shows again, even with Genesis. Everything is possible. We could tour in Australia and South America. We haven’t been there yet.”

This sparks a change of opinion since last year’s interview with Rolling Stone, in which Collins said that new music and “getting caught up in that rock & roll promotion” was just not something that he had the drive to do, along with having young children at home.
