Earlier in the week, Phil Lesh, the beloved Grateful Dead bassist, announced that he would be performing a string of shows in Chicago and Nashville in November with The Terrapin Family Band—on November 15th and 16th, the ensemble will hit The Riviera Theatre in Chicago followed up by a performance on November 18th in Nashville at Exit/In. Yesterday, Phil Lesh’s son and guitarist for The Terrapin Family Band, Grahame Lesh, revealed more information about these upcoming shows, noting that Soulive and Lettuce guitarist, Eric Krasno, would be joining the group in November as a special guest performer.

The news of this collaboration is by no means out of left field, as Krasno and Lesh have previously played together numerous times. Also, considering that Phil Lesh & The Terrapin Family Band’s upcoming five-night Halloween run will see the group perform with Nicki Bluhm, Robert Randolph, and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, as of late, it seems that Phil Lesh has been loving augmenting his lineup with special guests. Tickets for both of the Chicago shows and the Nashville show went on sale this morning.
