Just a few weeks ago, Phil Lesh marked the opening of his Terrapin Crossroads venue with a soul’d-out Friends performance that featured the entirety of Soulive, Jackie Greene and more. Yesterday, Lesh put that outdoor space to good use once again, throwing a “Spring Fling” that included performances from Colonel & The Mermaids, Lorin Rowan’s Rattlebox, and, of course, Phil Lesh & Friends.
This particular Leshian ensemble included some all-star talent, including John Scofield, Chris Robinson, Scott Law, Jason Crosby and Tony Leone. The group jammed their way through a number of folk and Grateful Dead classics, opening up with Hank Ballard’s “Let’s Go Let’s Go Let’s Go” before dusting off favorites like “Mr. Charlie” and “Bertha.”

The band also worked in the classic Otis Redding song “Hard To Handle,” a tune that was repopularized by Robinson in the Black Crowes. Check out the joyous blues cover below.
