Ahead of Phish’s spring tour, bassist Mike Gordon caught up with Live For Live Music to discuss the band’s ongoing Rock & Roll Hall of Fame bid. Additionally, Gordon previewed the new band he will bring to The Joy Theater on Saturday, May 2nd for a show in New Orleans during Jazz Fest. Guitarists Xavier Lynn and Bob Wagner will join Gordon’s longtime lineup of keyboardist Robert Walter and drummer John Morgan Kimock.
“I have one band where the members stay the same,” Gordon explained, “and I think it’s gonna be super fun in this era to accept that the other band has people sort of coming and going a little bit. … And I think that the way to handle it is to have a lot of exploration.”
Tickets for the Saturday, May 2nd show at The Joy Theater in New Orleans are on sale here.
